Just a few pics of some practice this is a 1/4" skid plate I bought cobra brand, but the outside or underbelly was nicely tigged but the insides were not so I just had to try! OH BTW-it is 220V settings

looks good for mig! the way to go for aluminum is definitely tig though. tig machines are so expensive..glad i get to use my works miller. i'm gonna look into a small tig for aluminum stuff at my house.
 
Thanks guys, took me a spool of wire and about 40 hours of welding to figure out this spoolmate gun! the Mig doesn't give you the shiney look like tig but with 220v I could do 1/2" plate for sure. Just gonna need alot of wire to do, But I actually like it! spatter isn't too bad as it requires 25-30psi of argon shot when doing it so, i'm pleased.

Found that for aluminum that making the letter "J" worked best and gave me the best look!

when we did the stems, LOL
