Hey guys I have an 01 Blaster that I've been putting together in the past few weeks, I just installed everything yesterday which includes
-An FMF fatty pipe
-FMF power core silencer
-A CFM aluminum air box
-Uni pod filter
-Vforce 4 reeds

I moved the needle clip to the middle slot and bumped the main jet from the stock 230 to a 300. Beforehand with the 230 the engine would idle, it sounded like it was running lean a tad bit, but it did idle. Now after i switched everything out it won't idle when cold and when warm it'll idle really low for maybe 7 seconds and then die. I still have the stock 32.5 pilot jet. Should i bump up the pilot jet or should I look into purchasing the idle screw kit for the 28mm mikuni carb?

I may drop the main down to a 290 because it sounds like its running just a pinch too rich with the 300, whether or not that will affect how it idles i figured i'd mention it

leakdown tested ?

check float height: http://www.blasterforum.com/threads/float-heights-and-how-to-adjust-them.50565/

32.5 pilot is the one, adjust airscrew: http://www.blasterforum.com/threads/adjusting-your-airscrew-pilot-jet.51060/

oil injection deleted ? is nipple on carb blocked off ?

main jet size has zero to do with starting and idle.

should I look into purchasing the idle screw kit for the 28mm mikuni carb?

what does that mean ?
you have the stock carb with TORS removed ? if so you need an idle screw.
if TORS is still on the carb, the idle screw is on top of it and accessed under the seat/fuel tank.

does it rev past idle ? to eliminate TORS as the problem

28mm carbs should have an idle screw.
