01 blaster, lots of smoke

hey im new here, i have a 2001 blaster i got it used not running due to a bad clutch & broken shift fork. i need some insight. did the clutch & shift fork on the quad today, but when i started it it was blowing alot of white smoke and also spitting oil out of the exhuast pipe.... help please. was told it could be a seal.......

White stinky smoke points to a gear side crank seal.

If it smells like crap it is possibly a crank seal.

A leak down test will tell you what is wrong!

It could be a couple of things. Bad crank seal, internal break in the case, the case was not sealed correctly when put back together.

First thing to do is a leak down test, to find out where the oil is getting in to the crankcase, could be a simple fix like a crank seal!
