I had a tire fall off once, luckily I was barely moving, not sure what or how it happened, but obviously the cotter pin must have fallen out and the nut fell off and the tire went right passed me, pretty scary, I wouldn't ride without one unless you plan on driving 5 mph for 100 yards.

I don't see a reason for using a lefty throttle on any atv. Boondocking a sled is way easier than an atv.

Polaris is all my family rides until I jumped ship and bought a Doo, but we've been a Polaris and GM family forever with no problems.

First thing I checked was the oil, he said he had it changed before storage last year, it's full, and clean. I'll probably ride it the rest of the year and tear it down before next year to make sure every thing is good to go.

I haven't gotten to ride it hard yet, just got it Thursday and have only been able to ride it up and down our tar road here in town and on my grandparent's 3 acre lot out of town, but I like it a lot so far. We're planning on going up north in a few weeks so I'll be able to put it to the test...

Craigslist is your best bet. The key for shopping on CL is to search frequently. Good deals do not last long, I'd be looking a minimum of twice a day.

It was a little money pit, but I'm happy with it now, should be fun. I never thought I'd need to change oil that they were running through it.

Never updated this thread, but I tore the engine out and took it to the Yamaha dealer, they needed to completley rebuild it, anything that could have gone wrong, did. They said the people that I bought it from were running real crappy oil and it had no lubrication. Runs good now!

Yep, same thing as they do at the Elk River Sno Cross track. At the OHV park in Gilbert, I saw vidoes of people just messing around, nothing official or anything, but I'm not sure if I can go on there with a four wheeler or not.

There's a place in elk river for the sleds too but you need pads and orange clothing, is that the same way? I'm just looking to have fun not do any serious racing or anything.
