So only 30 mins for all my gear oil to burn out? I'm screwed .

I repalced the crank seals , and I'm pretty sure they are in right. I put them in the right way . Im thinking its an old bike, and like an old car it needs thicker oil? I am buying the parts to make a leak down tester.

I replaced the crank seals and its top has been rebuilt. Sadly it is still smoking. I am about to try some 80-90 gear oil because I am hoping it will be to thick to leak through into the top end. Any suggestions on what I should do?

ok so i called the yamaha dealership and they told me that my casterol 10-30 oil will work. They also said I should just run the quad for about an hour to get rid of all the old oil that went in my lower end. I will give it a try and let you guys no what I find.

Do you think my oil is to thin? I will go buy some gear oil then. Any other ideas? Should i put transmission stop leak in it?

Ok if i do that and find a leak how does that help me? I though the only place oil from the gearbox can reach the piston is through the crankshaft seals right? should i use thicker oil?

It doesn't smell bad its kind of sweat. I put in 10-30 casterol motor oil in it. How do I do a leak down test?

I bought a 1993 blaster from a guy who rebuil the top and bored it to 240cc. It was smoking a lot of white smoke so i replaced the crank seal on the right side by the clutch. I started it up and its still smoking. Can it be the old oil in the exhaust heating up or is my engine done?:(

Thanks for the walkthrough im gonna try to do that . I have never tried taking so much of the engine apart before. Aslo you said I need to screw two holes, is that gonna affect me when i put it back together? Also any pics would be extremely helpful.

I heard we ca check by spraying starter fluid on it or something. Where is the crank seal I took off the cover by the shifter
