Hey guys I know yall get tired of carb probs but I searched and searched but couldnt find an answer. My prob is I got a keihin 34mm pj carb off a friend of mine. he had it on his 250r I hooked it up on my stock thumb throttle using his cable because it is like crimped on at the cap on the carb like its made together, but its too long when I adjust it all the way out and push the thumb lever the slide doesnt come all the way up. Has anyone had this prob any help would be appreciated. (how the hell do u get this cable out and/or shorten it)

as ghetto as it is what i did was cut a notch in the throttle housing so the arm has more travel, but you need to connect the two arms inside your throttle together. i used a tiny nut and bolt. like i said ghetto but effective I:I I:I or you can get a nice moose throttle for 120 bones.

The 34's and up have a longer cable travel than like the stockers, so you will have to mod a yammy thumb throttle to have more travel, like above, or get one off of a 250r or similar.

Your thumb throttle is fine--you need the right cable. The stock cable is the wrong size. Remeber that Banshees have even smaller carbs and a simple cable swap allows the use of huge carbs. Get a Vito's or Motion Pro cable that is made for the Blasty with an after market carb.... You can make almost anything work, but it is better to do it right....

erwin bud I know my thumb throttle is fine but the prob im havin is that I cant get the other cable out of the carb cap And I am trying to get around buying a whole new cable and cap but hey man thanks for the input and welcome to the forum

Dont mean to dig an old thread up but pics would be good, the cable on my quad now is stainless steel and braided, to post the right cable to U.K from america is $55 and that would be a standard tors delete cable, i have a keihin carb and wishing to use the standard thumb throttle instead of the twist throttle that someone has put on, any help would be appreciated, What you guys think of crimping something on that will slot in the arm at the right place?

yeah thanks a lot man, heres some green, been crappy weather here today so havn't been out to look but will be looking tomorrow :)
