Nice attitude you have! I have every intention of doing a leak down test. I just haven't the time this week. Stay posted for results and pics of the new ride!

    Clutch side crank seals

Ya work caught up with me this week, I will not have time to do a leak down test just yet. I an interested to find out where the problem is though. I bought a cheap flywheel puller so I can change the other seals while in digging around breaking things. :)

Well my Jet kit should be in the mail soon. I also went ahead and bought another Blaster just because they are awesome! Found a 2004 in complete OEM condition for a fair price, runs nice. Now I can pull this engine back out and play around with it without getting the riding itch...

That is actually pretty convenient! I may need your assistance with a motor that may be out of my area of expertise. Where abouts in CT are you. Thanks

new to Worcester... looking for locals

Welcome Robbie! LOL i completely agree about Gabriel racing, they butchered a set of Renthal bars i had them put on my dual sport, and they are never too helpful when it comes to ordering anything. I work in Worcester and ride in Spencer and other areas. Hit me up once the snow is gone and we...

    Clutch side crank seals

Yes it is fitted directly to the 26mm carb, I had a feeling it was getting a little more air than it should be...but with all this oil burning I didn't make any final decisions. I'm not sure it is possible to do a plug chop since i cannot run the engine long until i solve the problem and the...

Haha thanks that was my 04 blaster that i originally bought for my girlfriend, it was nice till that crash, i didn't even notice the frame was bent until the day after...This 400ex project is turning into quite a headache but i'm hoping it will work out good in the end! I am pretty tall anyway...

    Clutch side crank seals

Ya it has a new NGK B8ES in it, and i premix 32:1 it starts up really really easy...half a kick in a 50 degree warehouse I just put a new stock jet kit in the blaster carb and it has tors bypass and a regular motion pro cable, carb screw out 1.75 turns. but since the engine is in a 400ex frame,it...

    Clutch side crank seals

The breather actually has nothing attached to it, i just recently put this engine in the frame. Ive put in a new drain plug and also taken the clutch side cover off a few times, today put a new gasket on it today also. So it has had a few recent oil changes. I do not measure the oil exactly but...

    Clutch side crank seals

Well unfortunately I got the whole thing back together and it seems to still have the same problem. I guess I am being forced to do a leak down test, Not sure what else would cause power loss and white smoke and oil coming out of the exhaust.

    Clutch side crank seals

Update! Just want to say thanks to everyone for the awesome ideas...I really liked the nut splitter o.O Anyway, a friend of mine came in today and just so happened to have his 18v 1/2" Milwaukee impact gun on him. While he was grabbing the tool I found a 1/2" drive 6-point 3/4" socket and...

    Clutch side crank seals

Thank you all for your great replies, i used PB blaster from the get go. Got cans of the stuff! What i didn't do was use a proper 6 point socket off the bat and now this happened. I'm hoping a real good impact will take it off, if not i may be forced to try these other suggestions. And if you...

    Clutch side crank seals

Me and a friend just tried again with a 6 point 19mm 1/2" drive socket and a breaker bar...still slipped with 2 people applying forces. Then we tried that same socket on a 18v cordless impact gun...it seemed like it would have worked but the tool was not strong enough. I am seeing if another...
