extended front brake cables for a 1988 Blaster

Does someone make extended front brake cables for drum style front brakes? I want to use the front brakes without going hydro and get extended a-arms since I blew a ball joint.

Blaster freshie (uk) new to the scene

It depends on so many things depending on mods and your location! I did my plug chops and came out a nice tan color and ran perfect so my information is correct to MY blaster! I agree start with a fat jet and work your way down but every blaster is different. Basically the exhaust didn't...

    Clutch questions

That sounds right. Like I said, I never did measure mine. If this is at all any help to you, I took this picture when I had it apart. Still aren't able to tell how long the rod is but I'd say between 4 and 5 inches. I thought I broke mine when I took it apart because when I put if back together...

Blaster freshie (uk) new to the scene

that's with it on I would go 250~260 with it off. Do a plug chop to get an actuate reading. My plug chop with the fmf and air box lid on was best with the 230 main. when I ran an open air box it was a 250 main. I did my plug chops and that was where the best plug chops landed. i'm at about 850...

    Clutch questions

I'm taking a guess since I had mine apart about 3 weeks ago but I think it was about 4 inches each. There are two push rods with a bb between them.

I would run a 240 main to be of the safe side but I have the same exhaust system and it ran the best with the stock jetting (230 main)

The boots need to break in. I had the same problem at first. Took about 8 hours of ride time to finally be able to shift comfortably with the boots.

I was planning on 1 or 2 degrees. I want more mid range power so that's why I want to change it.

Advanced timing with high compression head

I had Ken port and compress my head on my blaster this past February and was wondering if is still ok to advance the timing a little bit? I have been looking over the forum and have seen that advancing the timing about 2 degrees will give you a some extra horse power but that was with stock...

    1988 Yamaha Blaster Full Restoration

Sorry for being months late on this report but the elkas are unbelievable! you literally can hit any jump or bump and it soaks it right up. I had some bad landings with them and they saved me from going over the handlebars many times already. Highly recommended suspension!
