Well even though it's 30 degrees out I just had to pull the blasty out of the garage and see how the Rad valve does compared to the Vforces 2 I had in there before. I got the front Hydro's on and bled, so out in the cold dark I went. I personally think it has much more snap. It just "sounds" better too. With the Vforces it seem to be more zingier, " Zing,Zing Zing a higher pitch. The Rad valve seems to have a grunt, throaty sound not such a high pitch too. I have to say I'm pleased with this purchase.
Now to get a decent day to check the main jet and get some riding in.

I am running a bit warm also, not sure why- I hit it with the temp guage and it was 248*. I'm running a B9 plug, so I went and put in a B8 and the temp increased (as it should) to 252* . This was all after a 15 minute zip around the block. anything over 200 is concerning to me especially when it 30* out. I'm sure when it gets 80+ that temp would be very bad.

I have been doing some research and i also want to get a new carb. I'd like to go 33 but may just get the airstriker 35. I know alot of guys say 35 is too large for stock jug but i have to differ,. Alot of guys are running a 34 I can't understand what one more size is going to hurt, sure i may loose some bottom but not that much, and the difference in price from a 33 to 35 is $30.

Glad you like it Bob!! You will be fine with a 34 or 35mm carb on that setup.I run a 34 pj on my stock jug and it performs perfectly.Better check jetting and air leaks to get those temps down.About time to get rid of that oko,out with the old and in with the new.lol

Ya i did an airleak test and compresion test before i ran it -Results no leaks, and comp=163lbs! I'm gonna give it a check in the morning can never do enough air leak tests!

Thanks Bro!

bro, now you already struggled thru a whole season with one bad choice of carbs, now your gonna combine a low end rad valve with a top end carb ???????
why, why, why do you have to try and re-invent the wheel ???
they make a 33 airstryker
and it sounded "zingier" with the v-forces cause they were lettin way more air thu allowing it to rev quicker
keep foolin with rad valves and overly large carbs, i'll be waitin for you at the end of each trail

Your always waitin for me! I could have a BB +4 fully ported and elka'd up with anti vibe stem and u still be waitin for me! I think the RAd flow just a good but id crisper, JMO. As far as a bigger carb, u really think a 35 is gonna hurt me. U R runnin a 34 bro... I get the velocity thing!

holy crap does kennedy dyno his new handlebars? from what i understand reeds arent upgraded for peak hp but a lil change in powerband location and throttle response. how does a dyno tell you that? it could tell you powerband location but that is personal preference you cant say 1 is better than the other

when i first put my rad valve on i noticed a big gain in low end but it seemed lacking on top and thats why i opened it up a bit. slicks new rad valve looks differernt and i cant wait to hear what it has on top.

I may end up doing that, but I have to get me a dremel tool first! I'd be interested in see'n the pics of your guys ported Rad... I can't find the thread...

keep in mind my reed cage is off a cr125 but here is it ported first one with half stock half ported to see the difference then one fully ported

I have a 35mm carb that I probably could use on my stock ported cylinder, but I just need to sell it right now and will probably run a 33PWK....whenever the hell I can find one that's decently affordable. I think a 35PWK is fine with a stock bore personally. I think it's even safer considering you have the stroker engine and increased displacement. Plus it's the Air Stryker model with a little better bottom end.

I don't know of any 33mm Air Strykers. I think they only made them in 35 and 38mm models, but I could be wrong.

I, personally just ported my stock reed cage and put Boyesen dual stage carbon fiber reeds on it and I didn't notice any difference between doing that and the V-force cage I had on it. In fact, I still have the V-force Delta 2 cage for sale if somebody is interested in a reed cage.

Im seen your add. I'm doin some reading on these carbs, the idea, according to numbers is a 33. I'm trying to decide if I will ever go to a BB. If not I may get that from u. Is it new? Where did ya get it? I really want New, not like new but New in Box. I'm weird like that!
