wiring harness slimming and re wrapping

ok i decided i wanted to get rid of all the "junk" on my harness so im gonna teach you how, and remember it can be stripped down farther too.

tools a SHARP, i cannot emphasise that enough SHARP knife and or rasor, and a wire stipper. the multi tool wasnot needed

the harness before "slimming"
ok now take your knife and slit the harness tape all the way down the center and split it, be careful not to cut the wiring

when you get it stripped down you will find quite a few ground pigtales like this

all the black wires ar grounds

as you see in this pic i trimmed alot of the un neaded grounds off, the ground for the oil pump and the ground for the tail light is what it was

some clipping of the grounds

say bubye to that

heres whats left of the ground pigtale, as you can see i cut a few wires

heres where were at so far

now farther up the harness is another pig tale you wanna cut that wire

gone

now this one this is the yellow and red wire

and that one

thats whats been cut so far

now cut this blue wire, no more brake light

cut

found the end and cut her out

now once you get it all torn down you will wanna rewrap it, and i deleted everything excepth the key, headlight killswitch and stuff for it to run,

tools, electrical tape color of your choice and a sissors, not picture but yea

too keep the wiring in groups of where it goes i used little loops of tapes tightly holding the wires together

startyed wrapping, keep it tight, you dont want it sloppy

I did all the "branches" seperate then came back and taped up the parts where they connect

and thats what that same section looks like after i came back and wrapped it, just wrap the sections like you do an ace bandage
