custom skid plates

has anyone thought about just tacking it on, i mean if anyone has a carbon steel one that is. 1/8 plate would work just fine

aluminum or plastic is the best.. saves weight. the only thing i would use steel for is the swingarm skid. and welding a skid to the frame also weakens it a lil

i dont think the self tapping screw was a good idea either. would u bolts do the same thing? or a conduit hanger. but ubolts would be even easier than that, youd have to drill more holes but f*ckit. sounds good though i wanna try this. it beats payin 100 bucks for a skid. i want a sprocket skid!

i made my skid plates this same way..it's a hole lot cheaper..i don't know if it was the best way or not ... but i just used small self taping srews..i just bought a 2x2 sheet for 15 bucks and it worked great..
