I am working on making a go cart out of an old blaster motor I have sitting around and while it sat around I have lost quite a few parts. So far I thought I had everything but then I realized that I didn't have a cdi box. Can I put an 88 to 02 cdi on it or does it need to be an 03 up? Thanks for your help.

Yes either can be used, but you will need to look at both wiring diagrams to know how to do it because they are different

If you want to just plug it into the Blaster wire harness, you need 03 and newer. If you are willing to do some splicing, then you can use 88-02.

OK I don't have a wire harness either so I will probably by the 88 to 02 bc they are cheaper on ebay. Thank you for the info.
