I have a 2004 yamaha blaster it idle only when choke is out and it idles kind of low but it idles. When i put the choke in its starts to rev up really high like to really high rpms what do you guys think it can be?

Thanks, are these like the only 2 things i can check the carb is rebuilt and clean can the jets be causing this problem?

there are few usual suspects to ranaway rpm's at idle...
-airleak
-clogged pilot jet
-airscrew setting
-low fuel level due to incorrectly set/cracked float, poor supply from the tank/petcock or blocked fuel cap vent(vaporlock)
-carb slide installed incorrectly and hanging

check flow to the carb by allowing the hose to drain into a cup,
check cap vent/hose is open and flowing air freely into the tank.
clean or replace petcock/screens
the slide has a slot that must align with the pin on the kicker side of the carb throat

here's threads on the other causes:

Have you tried to adjust the idle down? If you have you idle set to high and you choke it you are richening the mixture. This will idle it down. Give us some details.

Mods, jetting elevation?
Reason for carb rebuild?
Reeds look good?

I have tryed to adjust the idle screw it didnt really do anything but i found this sensor located kind of under the air box location and i unpluged it and it just didnt idle at all any more it cuts out the idle when i unplug it when i play with it and plug it in and out it starts to idle normaly with the choke in and out so i think the sensor is what messed up.
