Better Stock Heel Guard Removal

Well I took off the stock heel guards a while ago and put on the custom metal ones. On the right side, there is that chunk missing from the fender where the stock guards go, so I lined the stock heel guard up and cut it straight across and bolted it on like standard. Now there is no more hole there. Not sure if anyone else has done it, so here are some pics (Sorry it is a bit muddy).

My metal heel guards are made from aluminum, so no, they're not heavy. And the plastic patching is just the stock heel guard so it's light too.
