Checking Interest: Custom Swingarms

You can't notch with a chop saw...notching requires a round precise cut at the right angle to weld them up and not look so sloppy. We can make yours with a chop saw...LOL

That would be hours of work...I like using the right tools for the job personally...but if you wanna weekend just to figure it out then by all means. Not being an ass or anything...but the wrong tools frustrates me and I have no patience for trying to "make" do with things.

Did you even look at it? It can be done and has been done and will continue to be done by many people no matter how bad you don't want to admit it.

Yeh I looked at it...1 cut vs a couple cuts, then taping off to measure the notch that you need to cut...I'll pass and wait to save money for the right tools man

Well, you can use a chop saw, fill the gaps with weld then use a press to eliminate the warpage... but then you sell this cobbled together swinger to somebody, it fails, they get hurt and you get sued for a couple hundred thousand... remember when building critical parts like swingarms, a-arms etc... your customers life may depend on the quality of your part. Im not trying to discourage you, im just saying if your going to do it, do it right

Yeh that's exactly what i was trying to say. if I build one, it's gonna be sturdy and handle jumping and what not...i will test before I produce anything.

Phragle....that looks like the one I posted a pic of a few days ago?

id like one like this but with a 40mm carrier so i can run a jj&a play axle
and is that a 250r shock with lower bushings

Hot did you fabricate the pin for that shock through the swingarm? Curious as to what you used...and how is it removable? Any advantage as to using the same ol' shock tabs?

Thanks alot Phragle..
