ok i know this is a blaster forum but i need help. i found 2 1987 honda 250x's for sale for 1600. they both have fmf exhaust and jet kits. one has new valves and springs. what do you yall think of this deal? and any bad reports about these?
Owner probably isn't too smart if he's using "Jet kits."
I ride with an 87 250X actually, and let me tell you those things are tough as nails. Not the fastest things out there, but still a great sport quad nonetheless.
Yeppers those things are bulletproof. I know some guys up at the track that have put built 330EX motors in the 250x frames and they seem to handle really well and hold up nice too.
I say buy them. $800 a piece for Hondas, not bad. Be cautious though, you are buying quads that are 25 years old. Be sure to check the frame for cracks or welds. Inspect the overall appearance of the quads, if they look beat up, they probably weren't taken care of very well.
