You can for sh*ts and giggles but leak tests an compression tests will tell you everything you need to know about the state of your motor
Compression and leak tests are the most important, that with an hour meter you can actually see how much tear and wear there has been over time.
Also if something fails, at least you knew how many hours it had on it.

Does that little washer in the carb by the main jet have to be there?

Does just any washer work or does it have to be a specific type? Because my carb doesn't have one.

Does that little washer in the carb by the main jet have to be there?

the main jet washer...YES
sometimes it sticks to the carb so check and make sure it is actually not there.
it has a effect on the needle when it is not there ect..... cuzzzz it spaces the main jet from the needleo_O

it is 1/16 of an inch thick....BUT I WOULD JUST BUY THE OEM 1:)
