im lookin for new shocks for my balsty. well, not new because money is tight but better ones that the stock shcoks i have now.. is there any good rear shocks that are smaller than the stock one to have my seat hight lower but still have good suspension and what would be the best to put on the front with the same size shock as the stock one?

Look into Works/elka used, can get pretty good deals. There is a member on here that sells them and services them, cannot remember his screen name....

Have a look.
Suzuki LTZ 400 rear shock $50 plus a $20 bushing kit from Ken O'Conner.
BOOM! You're flying!

450R shock will work too, very similar.

Huge improvement to the rear suspension.

Not to mention so much easier on the back and ass!

is a 450r shock goin to bring up the seat height? if i where to make a bracket to bring the mounting on the bottom back to make it lower would it have much of an effect on the shock?

My 400 ex shocks did not raise the rear at all, however I'm 230lbs, if your a skinny lad, they will be stiffer for you but you can adjust some of the preload.

im small alright 5'5 and about 125lbs.. if i was to make a bracket to lower it would it be putin unwanted strains on the the shock.. if it was to mount it on the bottom closer to the axle?

i have one made for my standard shock lowers the seat by about 6'' and i love it being low :D not fully sure if its good for the shock tho :/

how i was going to mount my 450r

one thing i have against that it, by the looks of it, if you lift the grab bar will the whole bar your made up lift iswell? the way i have it is its made into the original back above the swingarm and also fixed to the brake mounting so as that it is solid. my 1st attempt had a problem of the whole bracket lifting it the back wheel left the ground :/
