Screeching Noise from Transmission

Hey guys when shifting into 4 th 5th and 6th gear there is a loud screeching noise coming from the transmission. No noise when in 1st,2nd, 3rd. Drained oil found no metal, made sure it has proper oil level. Almost sounds like bad bearings maybe?

Possibly a bearing.you sure noise is from tranny.or possibly carrier bearing? You should definitely look into it.check for any up and down play on counter shaft at front sprocket.if oil is drained pull clutch cover.check clutch basket for up and down play.check crank bearings to.before more damage occurs.let us know what you find

If you’re not 100% sure noise is from trans, jack up rear axle, remove chain, spin axle checking for noise or rough feeling. While chain is off, test trans in gear, engine off, spark plug out. You’re trying to isolate where noise is coming from
If you’re confident in your abilities, test with rear raised engine running.

4,5,6 gears apply alot more load on everything than 1,2,3 gears do.
