Removing a Banshee Shocks Coil

I need help removing the coil spring from a banshee front shock so that I can paint it. Its a 2003 banshee shock and is not the same as the older banshee shocks. Does any one have experience stripping the newer banshee shock or know if there is a link with some info.

HaHaHaw ... Great idea, I've salvaged the parts but I'll need to order in a supply of Foster's to make this rebuild interesting ... LOL ... this could take awhile as sampling the Foster's will be the priority ... burp
