Reed Questions?

1. Should i run a gasket where the reeds meet the cylinder? I've gotten mixed reviews.

2. Anyone know where i can find replacement mounting screws for the reeds/rubber intake thing? Snapped one the other day so now i only have 3.

You need a gasket there. Use some RTV gasket maker on it to help it seal better. Take one of your bolts to the hardware store and match it up.

It would be a good idea to get a leak down tester. It's a great low cost tool that can save you a lot of money by finding an leak before it. Lows your motor up.

If you are snapping them, you may be nipping them up too tight!

5.8 ft lbs is recommended.

Yeah, I just cranked it in there with an impact gun. Not the smartest idea. 8-|

Learned my lesson good thing i could get it out!
