Buddy just bought a RAD carrier. We are going to put the axle and everything together. Do we use that big rod thing or does it come with a new one. Any assembly tips ??? Thanks.

i'm on my second rad carrier, the first was fully assembled when i got it used.
this one i have now is semi disassembled, with a 4 pack of new bearings, 2 new seals, and what appears to be a new inner bearing spacer .....assuming thats the "big rod thingy" you speak of ???
that must be used !
it keeps the inner bearing race from collapsing when tightening the axle locknuts and spaced properly during operation.
if the rad your buddy got didn't come with one ?
clean and re-use your existing stock one.

So do the bearings come in the carrier and I just slide the rod and and axle in or do I have to assemble everything

It's direct from RADs website.

it will come fully assembled and ready for you to install your axle, and bolt it to the carrier with the 2 long bolts, i'm not sure if they give you new bolts ? i used my existing stock bolts and they fit exactly the same as a stock carrier

It came with the new rod. We put those in and just slide axle in. Sounds pretty simple to me. We will grease as sell as directions say to do so
