well, finally broke down and ripped the blaster apart to port and polish it. i'll try to get some pics on here... but i got dialup... re-polished the head, polished the top of the piston, ported and polished the intake and exhaust and sanded the runners a little. even gasket matched and polished the exhaust flange. but i was wondering what to clean everything up with. i blew it off with the airhose, but i was thinkin i should take an oiled rag or something and wipe it all off... and the stinkin people i bought a gasket set off of sent me the wrong one, so i gotta use the old ones...
but instead of doin that, i was thinkin, if i took the base gasket out completely and just used RTV silicone to seal it, it would increase compression some and change the timing just a little to favor the bottom end. anyone try this? or think it might work? whats the worst that could happen?
