Hey everybody, I have found this forum pretty helpful when working on my 95 blaster, so I figured that I should make an account. I'm 16 years old, and love tinkering with small engines and mechanical things.
My blaster was sitting for 13 years without running, and I rebuilt the carb. At first there was no spark, which seemed odd. When the ignition coil was attached to the Blaster, it was reading no resistance. We took it out and it was reading the proper resistance that was in the service manual. We put it back in and eventually it started up. It was revving up to full throttle and staying there, but once i put a new air filter on, the problem went away.
The brakes are still pretty finicky. Looking on here it looks like hydraulic brakes are the way to go. Im just not a fan of the price tag on them though.

After standing idle for such a long period it is advisable to do a leak test to see if the crankshaft seals are in good condition.
