Im looking for a good strong set of nerf bars but really dont want to spend $300 on the xfr's, im a big guy and like to ride hard as well as jump my quad so i need bars that will hold up and have heal guards and foot pegs. Im looking for the people who bash their quads hard and havnt bent or broken their bars not just opinions

If I'm not mistaken, the XFR's are the only nerfs w/ heelgaurds still made for blasters ?
and probably your best bet ?
maybe check with Alba ?

I adapted a set of Pro Armor Fat Pegs w/ Heels from a suzuki 450 to mine, I don't recommend it, took considerable cutting, welding and mods to work. they do take a pounding though :)

Are the tusk brand ones any good, i seen a set with everything i want but im afraid theyll break preaty easily because i bought a tusk front bumper and its seems pretty light weight. I didnt see anything from alba that has the heal guards but im also going to look a little more, worst case ill just fork up the cash and get a good set from xfr bars. Im also looking into a case saver but not sure what to get, the only ones i can really find are aluminum but ide think that the plastic ones would be less likely to cause damage if my chain comes off because it would break the plastic instead of damaging the case or bolt holes that it attaches to. Last thing i can think of is what are the most relable logest lasting reeds, im tginking about upgrading those as well and i have a alien full exhaust but was told ill need to jet my carb, ive been debating on just upgrading the carb instead to a better one but not sure what to get and how big of jet to run in it, my cylinder is getting bored 80 thousands over

keep your stock carb for the DMC exhaust, just rejet, I think 270 - 300 mains work for it, and it likes the needle clip dropped one slot to richen the mids.

confirm main jetting with plug chops, start large and work down....

V-force reeds/cage are the longest lasting I've tried

vitos and boysen dual stage reeds are OK too, use in your stock cage, be sure to use the factory curved reed stops and ditch the little bar they supply

Ken Oconnor Racing has good case savers, saved my cases quite a few times

Thank u for all the info, i just went and ordered the koa case saver and will proly proly be ordering the jets later tonight, do u know were the best place to get a jet assortment would be.

Ok so i found these few jet kits but only the vitos kit has the jet sizes, i forgot to mention that right now its running a aftermarket foam filter and im either getting a even better k and n style one or seeing if theirs a intake tube upgrade for it quick,. Also sorry about all the questions but im new to building 2 strokes and never do much for perfomance upgrades on other quads because i always sell all my toys before i have a chance and the one go karts doesn't have any upgrades available because it just a basic 10hp techumseh and my others were smaller briggs engines. i do have a kart buggy though with a yamaha 2 stroke snowmobile engine with a golf kart rear end that i just need to add a reverse linkage a gas tank mount and fabricate some kind of exhaust but that already ran when i got it, i just want it running and looking good before i bring it out. i would rather make sure i do everything the right way from the beginning instead of tinkering with it and not knowing anything before hand. Im just looking for a reliable ride with extra power and eventually ill be getting it ported and the head milled but for now i need to just button it up so my son can ride this summer when he comes. Ive already installed all new bearings in the case a new hot rods crank and pro lite wiseco piston so it's almost done besides a few minnor details as well as more upgrades to its lools and safety. I also modified the headlight mount and mounted a small light bar in its place so with that the aftermarket bumper and meijer front fenders it looks a million times better

I can also keep the foam filter on it if it performs better or filters better but i know if you keep the k&n style filter clean and oiled they usually work just as good but iddrather hear from others with experience useing them on a blaster. Im looking at either a k&n style but im woried about small dust particles or a pro filter foam one and will my engine breath alot better without thst restructive air box cover

Box cover off, Uni filter with proper foam filter oil.
K&N's are for fart can Honda Civics :)

No jet kits, buy the individual jets I suggested

Ok i already ordered the jets, KOA case saver, vforce reeds and performace air cleaner. I just need to get nerf bars and heel guards but is their any other parts you would suggest to buy. I was also wondering if they make a high power coil or performance ignition system for it and what kind of front end kit would you suggest to widen it, i already have the wide rear axle but want to widen the front now and want the new parts to be just as strong or even stronger. Thanks again for all the advice and i cant wait to get it going again, ive put it off for way to long because i work alot of hours but i want to ride it soon before another summer goes by, my little go kart only goes 45mph so it doesnt even cut it.

I didnt even see your reply until now but it looks like i made the right choices and even bought a performance foam filter

Thank u guys i just ordered a couple of iridium plugs from rock auto because i needed some car parts as well and picked them up for only $5 and some change. im just still not sure what to run for nerf bars, Ive decided to just use the stock heal guards for now and get a plain set of nerf bars but i just want to make sure my big ace wont break them if i land hard and my foot slides off the peg. Im leaning twords AC racing bars because it sounds like theyre some of the strongest but what can do u guys think are good strong ones that wont cost me alot. Im really only wanting to spend 1-200 at most shipped but also dont feel like breaking a ankle because i bought cheap ones. This is the last part i can think of that i need for now and i more than appreciate all your input so far, ive already ordered everything else but will also eventually want to widen the front end like i have in the rear.

I wont be able to tell because i changed the 50 over bore to 80 over and did a few other upgrades as well but i run iridium in everything as it is. the fine tip electrode puts up a stronger crisp spark and always seem to run better in most all cars and equitment ive ever used them in so i just fork up the money and buy them everytime as well as suggest them to all my friends and customers. I also went with alba racing nerf bars because i liked the way they bolt on and it looked stronger, i figgured for now theyll wook good and once i change the rear plastics to match the front ill get those xfrs like i really want but i dont want a ugly gap on one side from the stock plastics not haveing the mud flap/heel guard installed

I was also right it was the ngk 5044's but thank u for confirming it for me so i could make sure i got tge right onea
