i live in the south where it stays wet and muddy most of the time. i did all the mods to my blaster correctly when i rebuilt the motor. i have the fmf silencer with the fatty header. i ran during the summer with my lid off and everything was fine (it was a very dry summer) but now i am trying to ride with my friends and everything is mud and water. water keeps splashing in to my breather box and just putting my riding to a hault. i dont have the lid no more but i know there is something i can do to go mudding with the blaster. can someone please throw me some ideas on what to do. i know it sounds silly but i thought about making a snorkel for it. ok time for the feed back.I:I

I have used that! Didn't keep all the water and stuff out, but I was able to ride all day! Not worth 30+ride IMO!

I have the same problem. I live in serious mud and sand country too.
Here is an example:

Can you see my front tires? Nope. Did you know Blasters float?
I am the blue guy, riding the ridge in the center of a logging trail. There ain't no "going around".

I knew I was facing that sort of abuse, so I came up with an answer.
I don't have any pictures (yet), but what I did is sheetmetal in the top of my frame tubes from
the airbox forward to the fuel tank. I take my air from between the tank and its cover.
Then I glued foam to the underside edges of the seat so it becomes the lid of my airbox and
draws all its air from the front, above the tank. Some water still gets in, but pretty darned tight.
I also run a paper element because it filters better and really resists water.

Here is a picture from before I put the sheetmetal on (during my build), maybe you can visualize it?
Aluminum from the airbox forward to under the tank. Seat sealed around the airbox and forward.
