i was thinking about leaving the air box cover off of my blaster because it runs and sounds a lot better and opinions

Taking off the air box cover leans out the air fuel mixture.
With the extra air you may need to increase the main jet 2 sizes .
The reason that it seems to run better is because you are on the wrong side of lean, but you may be doing damage to the piston due to extra heat.
Plug chop to confirm the jetting.
