Head gasket help please

I am finishing my rebuild and I am putting on the head gasket, which side of the head gasket is supposed to face up and is the arrow shaped studhole supposed to face the front (exhaust) side?:-/

The boss of the gasket should face up. Stock gaskets are marked "UP". The arrow will face to the left or right.

arrow pionts to the exhuast and the square edge (meaning the outer edge of the gasket is not rounded around the stud holes) to the right as sitting on the bike.
