Cracked clutch basket

While in the process of tearing down my engine for a rebuild, I cracked one of the legs on the clutch basket. If I understand correctly this just functions as a guide for the clutch plates so would it be OK to JB weld it back on? It's a clean break and would glue together good but I don't want it cracking again under pressure.

I wouldnt do it,thats just asking for future problems,do it the right way and get a new or used one.
