i recently picked up a 1999 blaster and im having problems with the clutch not engaging. i checked to make sure everything is adjusted correctly. i pulled the clutch off to make sure everything was in there (both push rods, the ball). last owner claimed to have replaced the clutch not long before it sat around for about a year. i made sure the actuator arm wasnt damaged in anyway, also made sure the basket wasnt grooved and made sure the plates werent sticking together. i havent replaced a clutch on anything before so im not to sure what it could be. iv searched around this forum for a couple of days and feel like iv tried almost everything. i snapped a couple pictures of the friction and clutch plates do they seem like they need replaced or possibly the cable? thats the only thing i can think of that is going wrong at this point.

i do have the metal ring spacer (not 100% sure where that goes in the basket).

any ideas will be greatly appreciated!

Find the PDF manual on the forum. IIRC the plates have to be “clocked” according to the bumps on outside of steels. That ring goes inside the fiber it fits in.
