blaster w no powerband

Please help friends. I just got an 88 blaster, dont know too much got it on a trade. I also have a stock 94 that runs great, has good powerband. New bike had no powerband or top end at all, its weird. Any suggestions please help!
It has way to big tires on back also rear fmf silencer thats all. New trans gears too. Other than that looks stock. thanks alot

so you already tried a fresh plug and did a plug chop, also checked the compression, so what were the results of those tests?

just got it about a week ago, rides okay, new plug for sure, didnt do comp yet, might do that tom.

do a little leg work for us and do what brando said fresh gas also im hoping leakdown test would also be nice

Does it come into powerband in first gear? What does it do if you rev it up in neutral? What did old plug look like? Is it smoking a lot? Might need carb cleaned. Might need air filter cleaned. Get going in like third gear with throttle wide open, pull choke half way out. Does it run better or worse? Try removing air box lid for a SHORT run, better or worse? Try the tires off other Blaster, might not have enough power to pull big tires with your gearing .

Will it rev up in neutral without being crazy about it and blowing it up? Chain to tight? Any oil in trans? Just rambling thoughts. I:I Axle spin freely?

holy cow man that is about anything that could be thought of to cause the problem I would start with a clean carb though

first gear seems short, doesnt have any first gear powerband at all, going to run some tests tom, had to pick up a parts blaster today thanks
