Yes, water and mud will cause this.

Top ends are not designed to process dirt....

Well I guess that's what I get for running a K&N filter. Never again.

Well a Uni won't stop water and mud from getting in (no air filter will)

I guess that's why they call it an "air" filter. From what I've heard uni's do a better job of filtering out the mud however the water will still get through.

sh*t im lucky then. 2 weeks ago i was riding with my boys and they was going around this puddle one the side of a lake. i wasnt familiar with the trails so it didnt look deep at all. i picked up speed to fly through it sad enough halfway through it i sank knee high then bogged my way out. took awhile for my to get the dirt and water out the carb and air filter but it was fine after an hour. lucky ME!

yea i know they got natural knocks, but this one sounds like his problem ^^^^^ but not as loud
