Can anyone tell me my piston size?

6 years is a long time for any piston, let alone a stock one. Why not put a lighter wiseco in it even if it doesn't need a new one? I guess if you baby it there's no point!

Can anyone tell me my piston size?

I only found a sh*tty sticky on breaking in rebuilds. I only changed my rings. Thanks for the help with that, but that sticky was so bad, it was just a bunch of different opinions. I think I'll do I light break in and wait for the full rebuild to see how well that holds up. Thanks again.

Can anyone tell me my piston size?

Alright, so I got it running with new rings and gaskets. I honed the cylinder and got the compression up to 125psi. Do I have to break the new rings in? If so how?

Can anyone tell me my piston size?

Thanks, it is a wiseco 67mm. Ok, so I know gaskets should only be used once, but if I put this back together with new rings and gaskets and it doesn't fix the compression would I be able to get away with using my new gaskets when I bore it out and get a 67.25mm piston? If it fixes it then I'll...

Can anyone tell me my piston size?

My mistake. If it's a wiseco shouldn't it have the notches for the rings to be set? So that they don't move out of a 180* stagger? Mine doesn't... Anyway, know the size of my piston will save me time and money for now until I do a full rebuild, hell, if it holds up awhile I might just save and...

Can anyone tell me my piston size?

You're right, I meant 67mm. 72-72.5mm is a big bore. So 67 it is huh? Thanks.

Can anyone tell me my piston size?

I know stock's 66mm, but my piston has a set of numbers on it reading (573M06700). Is this stock or 76mm? I need to know because my piston and cylinder look good so I just wanna get new rings and hone my cylinder and put it back together to last me through the holidays before doing a complete...

    Bareley starts/no idle HELP????????

Ok I got the piston out and it has a number on top, 573M06700. Does that mean it's 67mm? 1mm over stock? Should I go to a 67.25mm or stay with whatever size mine is and just have my cylinder honed? The walls look fine, but I'm thinking just to go up a size to be safe as directed by you guys. I...

    Bareley starts/no idle HELP????????

Ok thanks for the heads up. Would boring it one size up give the same power as two sizes up? I'm guessing there's no power gain, but going one size at a time allows for more rebuilds before the cylinder's no good. I would also guess that it would be smart to pull the old piston out first to see...

    Bareley starts/no idle HELP????????

So the 240 kit is a bad idea? I figure if it's the same amount of work to bore it out to 66.25mm as it would be to go to 72mm I wouldn't mind spending the extra $10 or so on parts. Wiseco 66.25mm kit= $126.95 shipped, Vito's 72mm piston=$110 shipped +Vito's big bore gasket kit=$28 shipped I...

    Bareley starts/no idle HELP????????

I found a Vito's cast big bore piston kit for $110 shipped, is that good or too high? Does anyone have any links to a how to thread stating all the tools and steps I need?

    Bareley starts/no idle HELP????????

Well I don't think it's gonna start. Disconnected the tors, checked spark (good), checked compression (bad) 50psi. I bet all that sand without paddles killd my topend. Might as well bore it down now huh? Thanks guys.

    Bareley starts/no idle HELP????????

Yeah if I kick away and hold it WOT it starts, but won't idle even after it's warm. I've turned the gas to burn it all out of the carb too. Should I keep kicking with no gas? I'm gonna try to just unplug the tors and take my filter off just to see how it starts and clean my filter. If my...

    Bareley starts/no idle HELP????????

Ok, and since it's a kick start I just take the plug out and hokk up my tester and kick away or what? Sorry if that's a stupid question, but I'm used to jetskis with a start button. I read on my jetski forum one time that 90psi was good, but maybe that was good for another quad...

    Bareley starts/no idle HELP????????

100 times was an over kill. I just meant I have to kick it a lot. Once it's started and dies it'll start up on 1 or 2 kicks with throttle. What should my compression be? My jetskis are all between 155psi and 185psi. I'm following the link right now also, it's long!!!!!!

    Bareley starts/no idle HELP????????

Pretty much. I have to open it all the way and kick it over 100 times, but once it's started I can just hold the throttle a bit to where it should be close to idle. I don't have to keep it WOT. I'm sure I have to flip the throttle every so often, I haven't timed how long it stays started with...

    Bareley starts/no idle HELP????????

My 01 Blaster was running fine when I got it a couple months ago and now it barely starts after trying forever. I have to give it a lot of throttle to get it started and when it is I can't let off the gas or it dies. Even when I shift now I have to be quick so it doesn't die. I rode it in soft...

    extended shift lever?????

I'll measure the distance between the peg and lever on a ltr450 and see how much longer that would be on a blaster. The 450's have a perfect length. If it's outrageous I'll start smaller.
