    Connecticut help

Are you premixing? If not, oil pump failures are common, which is why everyone recommends taking oil injection off and running premix. If your cylinder is seized you are probably going to need a new top end rebuild.

    jetting question

I know from my experience rebuilding the motor that no matter how well you think it runs, always plug chop to confirm the correct jetting. We can throw all sorts of jetting numbers for you but that doesnt matter. Every bike and location is going to be a little different. 270 is just a baseline...

    Worth it??????

Well any updates? If he has been trying to sell it since spring I guarantee he will take a lower cash offer. Even if you offer a couple hundred less, chances are he just wants it gone by now. He may say "firm" but you should act like you dont really want it, point out any problems or concerns...

    My "PS3" Blaster is alive!

Ok the leak down test process went great. I hooked up my home made tester and pumped it up to 7 PSI. I could tell right away it was leaking. The needle was slowly moving (on a 0-30 PSI gauge). So I pumped it back up to 7 PSI and began spraying soap and water on the reed cage. And that was it. It...

    My "PS3" Blaster is alive!

Ya I have just spent so much time getting this thing running I am dreading tearing it apart again. I did get the motor out of the bike this morning. I figure it's easy to take out and it gives me more room to work with so why not. I had to go to work today so didn't get the chance to leak test...

    My "PS3" Blaster is alive!

Quick Update: That thing at home depot is gone, all sold out and no back orders accepted. So I looked around at work for parts. Since I work at a hospital as an equipment technician I found some parts and made myself a tester. I used a 0-15 PSI gauge and some rubber tubing, a T, and a valve. I...

    My "PS3" Blaster is alive!

So I went to 3 different hardware stores looking for the supplies for a leakdown tester, and had no luck. I asked several different people at Menards, Home Depot, and Ace Hardware for a schrader valve aka tire valve and they had no idea what I was talking about. All the pressure gauges were for...

    My "PS3" Blaster is alive!

So after some more riding today I am convinced there is an air leak or something else wrong with the motor. It runs great at first. I was able to complete some plug chops with no problems. I first started to suspect an air leak after the second plug chop. Yesterday the #290 was lean. See video...

    What do you think?

Like I said, a general guideline is that with switching to premix, go up one jet size. Filter and airbox lid off, another 2 sizes. Exhaust, some more. Its better to start out high and plug chop down until you find the perfect jet size. You havent listed all your mods so I cant tell you where...

    What do you think?

The brand of air filter is less important than whether your lid is off or on when you are talking about jetting. The 0.10 over is not really a factor in jetting. You should not be running a 230 jet if you have switched to premix or done any modifications that effect the air/fuel ratio. We can...

    My "PS3" Blaster is alive!

Thanks. It's good, but that is the fastest it will go. From what I understood reading jetting threads, you are suppose to adjust it either way for the fastest idle to make sure you don't need to go up or down in pilot jets. So since my fastest idle is 1 1/2 turns out, I am good? I guess I was...

    99' Blaster won't run above idle...Stumped.

If you run your own small engine business, get a working compression tester. Thats your first move. You need to know for sure what compression the cylinder has. If you just rebuilt the thing and its only 80 PSI, thats a problem. You won't know for sure if its your gauge until you get a new one...

    My "PS3" Blaster is alive!

I have a small question for you blaster guru's. So I was trying to see about messing with the pilot jet setting and seeing if its correct. I warmed the bike up and let it idle. Right now the air screw is 1 1/2 turns out and it idles nicely. From what I have read you are suppose to adjust it...

Need help with project (not running)

To bypass the ignition simply unplug the connector or cut the wires. For 03-06 TORS removal follow the link tooslow posted. If its < 03 just unplug the TORS connector. Since the wiring is not stock, thats the first place I would look. Make sure everything is correct and the bypassing and TORS...

    My "PS3" Blaster is alive!

I have one I just don't have the correct bolts to install it. The guy threw all the bolts and nuts into a cardboard box and sent me on my way. Half the battle with putting this back together was finding what bolt went where.

How are you liking the Fly bars? I ordered some off eBay, silver ATV bend. Can't beat it for $30. I might be interested in the 450r rear shock though. If you are willing to ship it to 64503, PM me the price with shipping. As mentioned I ordered Fly handlebars, some scott grips, and it is all...

    How does my piston look

Well you want to figure out what caused that to happen. Could be jetting, air leak, etc. The piston in the blaster I bought a few months ago looked like that. They had too small of a jet in it and ran it lean which caused all that damage.

That was after a coat of silver. I didn't have a pic of the orange, but you can imagine how terrible it was. Bright, almost neon, flat orange.
