Fender Trimming Idea... Came Out SICK!

Sorry for laggin' folks... I broke my ankle and project Blaster has been on hold for a bit. I'll try to get some dimensions for those interested. If you have a requested photo angle, that would be pretty easy for me to accommodate. I'm also going to post some pics of the heelguard mods I...

Vitos Super Stock Or Pro Lite Weisco ????

There's nothing to sweat over the SS piston. 33% is very generous... they probably add 3-4 PEAK horsepower with aftermarket reeds and a pipe. I did notice a nice little top end hit with mine, being especially noticeable in 4th. As far as durability, I have a tale to tell. I was on the...

Fender Trimming Idea... Came Out SICK!

I'd be happy to share some close-ups and dimensions. Anyone else interested? Also, I might do a couple different angle shots of the rear, so you can see how it actually matches and complements the fronts. I'll close-up the heel guards too. You can't really see how they came out in these...

    exaust wrap

Well now that you mention it.... I was probably a lot smarter when I was 15 than I am now! Trouble is, I had zero common sense. Smart minus common sense equals trouble!

    exaust wrap

Nice, I like details. I was just trying to keep it simple for this 15 year old kid. But I (and many others on here) appreciate details like sonic tuning, etc. That's what the forum is for, to discuss! I liked your illustration. Some of us are visual learners. Unfortunately for me I...

    exaust wrap

Header wrap is really meant for 4-strokes. Here's why. On a 4-stroke you want to eliminate ALL the burned gasses from the cylinder when the piston gets to TDC. More back-pressure means higher pressure inside the cylinder. Thus, less exhaust gas will be expelled. You want to eliminate the...

    rebuild/jetting question?

Altitude is just as important a factor as modifications, my friend. What may be "just right" at sea level could be too rich at 3,000 feet. And what's "just right" at 6,000 feet would be disastrously lean at sea level.

Fender Trimming Idea... Came Out SICK!

See my avatar? Stock fenders did not help me much that day :)~ A winch almost didn't help either, but that's another story.....

Fender Trimming Idea... Came Out SICK!

Okay so, I've received a little bit of negative feedback on the rear fenders. What exactly is it that you guys aren't diggin'? Any suggestions?

Fender Trimming Idea... Came Out SICK!

Yah, I've been toiling the notion to put an aftermarket nose piece on to finish it up... but I think I'll save that one for later... Ya know, people always rip on "why waste all that money on a Blaster bla bla bla...." Well, because I CAN, and I ENJOY it. Oh, and because my Blaster will...

Fender Trimming Idea... Came Out SICK!

First, I used tape to mark where I wanted to cut. I measured, adjusted the tape, measured, then I measured again. When I liked what I saw and was certain it was even, I marked along the tape with a sharpie. I peeled the tape. I took the Dremel to it; a wide cutting blade along the longer...

Fender Trimming Idea... Came Out SICK!

Oh yah lol, no hatin' on the knot... it was the late 90's, early 2000's... Met them all live, it was pretty dope.

Fender Trimming Idea... Came Out SICK!

Bough my Blastee brand spankin new in '00.... and it desperately needed a makeover. So I grabbed my trusty Dremel and some sandpaper and walla... here is the result. Enjoy!

    Hard shifting

A quick, 10 second check you can do with NO tools is to ensure the clutch arm lines up with the mark on the case. Watch this video: More suggested reading: http://my.ironk12.org/~tombrown/clutch.html Good luck, hope this helps.

    98 blaster 200 vs. 03 scrambler 500

I know it's probably a little late to chime in, but this might help someone later down the road. I have a ported Blaster with a stock jug... and I can smoke a 500 Scrambler with a K&N filter (off the line). Ran out of track shortly after hitting 6th gear, so I can't say how long I could keep...

What to use for removing the stickey goo

Zippo lighter fluid is the best, but not everyone has some sitting around. But - the next best things to remove sticker goo is something EVERYONE has in their garage.... WD-40. Goof-Off will work on metal, but should NEVER be used on plastic. It will melt it! (Found out the hard way...)

    Flipping the rear wheels?

This is typical when you come close to bottoming out your rear suspension with that size/style of tire. Stock tires are more rounded thus, they do not rub. You have several options: a) Get a pair of spacers b) Get a Banshee rear axl c) Remove your heal guards d) Get an extended swingarm...

New Engine Build, No Smoke and Plugs Not Wet

I wouldn't use synthetic to break in a fresh top end. It lubricates too well which may not allow your rings to seat properly.

    Reeds keep braking

Next time you have your cage out, how about posting some pics? A picture IS worth 1,000 words... When you installed the new petals, did you use blue loc-tight? All the vibration from the engine tends to cause them to come loose otherwise. Bad things can happen...
