blaster wont rev past half throttle?

Sounds like (in my limited knowledge) that you might be running rich. Have you plug chopped to check jetting?
The parking brake will not allow any throttle above idle.
Is the carb spewing fuel?
The plug could be breaking down under pressure.

air box lid on or off...clean air filter....stock carb...any mods??
sounds like a carb problem though,,open up the carb clean it/and the float needle as well

I'll give you some advice, don't run it again til you get a filter on it!! If you've ran it without it for any length of time you and your not jetted properly, than you may as well rebuild it. I'd be checking compression before doing anything else
if your not going to take topend off to inspect...then at least compression test it....you can buy a comp gauge for 30 bucks at a autoparts store.
airscrew should be around 1 1/2 turn out from fully seated.turn it all the way in to the right then back it out 1 1/2 turns=540 degrees.it is the flat head screw right beside the fuel line on stock carb/idle is under the seat on top if its stock.
get a filter.....that 15 dollar filter is going to end up costing you and whole motor when it breaks piston/then you have to split cases to get it out

if oil injection is not hooked up then it is 32:1 mix =4 oz of two stroke oil per 1 gallon of gas.
final judgement....it is your carb or low compression....from what your telling us

You have to have the want to to test these things because without any test results there is no way to know how to help you

Exhaust leaks are a totally different kettle of fish to a head gasket leak.
Remove the head, lap the head, fit a new gasket.
3 heat cycles and re tighten the nuts on the head and cylinder.
