Got a 2000 Yamaha blaster all stock besides fmf pipe, I start it and it start right up but when I go to start moving and hit the throttle it will rev up till about midrange rpm then stay there for a little bit then when it eventually hits high rpm it goes and revs fine, and it does the same thing when I go bellow high rpm, cleaned the carb put fresh gas in it and still does the same thing ordered new reeds they will be here Tuesday also when I’m in neutral it will rev fine just when in gear and moving

Start by doing a leak down test

Ok, u think it could be jets tho? I just don’t know why at low rpm it would run fine and high rpm it runs fine just in between it sputters
Yea I would do a leakdown test and do a plug chop see how she’s running. What size is in there now ?

4. 270 thru 310 mains for FMF pipes depending on elevation, temps, airbox lid/aftermarket filter, and fuel/oil mix or stock injection ?

Ok thanks I have the fmf pipe and don’t have the stock oil injection I mix the the gas 32 to 1 and stock air box, I’m in Nebraska

OK I’ll mix it 40:1 next time there was an exaust leak right where the exaust meets the motor so fixed that and put the new reeds in and it got most of the midrange power back still has a little studder to it at midrange but not bad gonna do jets on Thursday

NO!! Stick with current mix , that’s what you’re jetted for !
When you clean the carb pull main jet holder/emulsion tube. There are tiny holes on the side of it. Check pilot jet that you can see through it.

Ok thankyou, I am going to jet it tonight because it is running rich so I’m going to put a smaller jet in it what would be a good size to start at?

Have you done a plug chop?
Or at least a accurate “read” ?
(Only difference being you don’t cut the threads off)
What main jet is in it?
Needle position?

Your original description sounds like a mid-range bog

Yes it is a mid range bog I am going to take the main jet out and see what is in it now and I’ll figure out what the needle position is

Ok so I looked at the old jet and it is a 220 my jetting kit came with a 210 220 350 360 for jet sizes where should I start?

you should start by returning that jet kit, they contain the jets they cannot sale to anyone else, because they are not needed.
230 main jet is stock
270 thru 310 mains for FMF pipes, start large and plug chop down
