    Either that or a bad crank seal is pressurising the clutch case.

    I prefer to pick up a non running blaster and fix it up myself. That way I know what was done to it, and that it was done right .

    Look back where the a arm is bolted in the frame. kind of look there, and rock the tire. The bushings go bad there. Only other thing would be the wheel bearings. Maybe a be a combination of both.

    Unplug the the parking brake sensor. Follow it down from near the clutch perch.

    If the Piston wasn't within the tolerance for the cylinder size. Crank may have to much play. How did you check jetting?

    Blaster help

    Backfiring is usually a sign of bad reed, or woodruff key sheared off...causing it to go out of time. Check that out, and see if its either of those. If the head gasket was leaking, may pay to do a leak down test to make sure you don't have any hidden airleaks that will cause you problems.
