download the manual and follow the flow chart.... stop being a parts changer it will take less time and aggravation if you learn to troubleshoot... you can ohm out the coil and eliminate that as a problem with a DMM... if you find good readings then you move to OHM out the primary and secondary...

Depending on how bad air leak that could be acting like your holding the throttle wide open... But u didn't specify how high of a idle.. Leak test as stated above and make sure your adjustment on the air screw are set at 1 1/2 out so u at least have a base to start

Recently rebuilt one and mine did the same thing check the ohm reading on the stator primary and secondary... One may be bad creating a weak spark even if ur test shows it firing... Also ohm the coil out u need to eliminate as many possibility before just throwing parts at it... GL

All set... Like I figured but until I had tools couldn't check anything the float height was to high and wasn't allowing enough fuel into the bowl and ran out... Orhwerwise it's back to running like it should... Thanks BF for all the quick responses

AWK thank you but ialready have the service manual... I was curious to see if their was some oddball reasons for it running try.. I even have the digital caliper gauge... Really I think I had fuel set right but the needle got a little stuck so later today I am gonna bring the quad to the shop...

Not first time the carb been off... I used the better of the two reeds I have. Neither was stuck or broken... When the carb was first put on after rebuild it had fuel leaking outta the Venturi after you shut it down so I figure I just have it set to low now... Cause as long as u don't run WOT...

Not the bowl screws... And turbo sockets work better...I was talking aboutthe fuel drain in order to test the actual fuel level and the vent tube seems to be fine I have a Spare gas tank I'll swap the cap and if not that ill have to double check the float height again at that point it's the...

Carb rebuilt before I even rode today double checked the bowl height when I installed the carb. I know fuel from petcock flows very freely... I can't remove bowl drain screw due to prior owner stripping out screw I will check if vent is clogged I figure easiest way would be crack it and run...

I have a 89 blaster and today went and rode it and 1-3 gear run fine when u get into 4th and hold WOT for a decent period of time it bogs down like I ran the bowl down dry it sputters and come to a stop wait and blip throttle and it runs fine again... Anyone have any issue like that...

I believe it should be a 1inch pipe for intake side... just wanted to verify 1/8 plug for exhaust side?
