How To Remove Your TORS (88-02 models)

so u twist the black wire with the yellow and black wire together ?and how about the ones from the cdi ? leave them connected to the cdi

i dont know what colors the wires are... there are only 2 wires heading from the cdi to throttle so obviously those are the ones you need lol then the same thing for the wires that go into the top of the tors unit. you are overcomplicating this, its very easy. I:I
 
im just trying to make sure im doing it right i dont wanna mess up the bike cutting the wrong wire or something . so u cut the plug off and connect both wires and leave the wires going to the cdi alone ?
 
Ok so i just got a 01 blaster and the only thing disconnected is the two wires at the throttle box everything else is still connected like the "brain" and the plug at the carb. with these two wires removed is that effective removal of the TORS?

no, but i wouldnt think it would run if done like that, mabey the wires are cut someplace else?

hmmm... my bike boggs ALL the time i thought maybe from a dirty carb. i got it out and cleaned it last night but gonna out it back it back in later. could THIS actually be the problem??? hmmm im definitely gonna do this after puttin the carb back in. (03 blasty)
 
ok i redid the whole wire harness and im down to like 7 wires like you said i got a new cdi cuz the old one was bad (it was getting a weak spark) and now i cant get any spark at all. i used the wire diagram in the book and as i see it i only needed these to run

CDI magneto
CDI unit
IGNITION coil
SPARK plug
and an ENGINE STOP switch

so thats what i kept in the wiring am i missing something or should i check the coil
 
i did this yesterday, all i did was unplug all 3 connectors and tuck them out of the way worked fine same as this but no butchering ur harness
 
i cut all the grounds out. the vid i watched told me too. i dont have lights or anything like that. soo where would i need a Ground?
 
Wait u CUT all the ground wires?? That's the problem. Ure not supposed to cut them. All u do is cut the yellow and black wire from the carb and the throttle I believe that's it. I kinda forgot but u should read up on the tors its very simple

all i have is the four wires coming out of the cdi box running back to the stator wires. and to the coil
