I need to refresh my blaster so Im trying to decide on which direction I should go. The blaster has a project blaster exhaust and project blaster airbox on it right now and I will be adding a 35mm carb. Now which route will be the best bang for the buck.

1) vito 3mm stroker crank with stock bore and shaved head. Plus I would have the cylinder ported to match the new stroke.

2)Vito 240 complete kit with stock stroke and most likley have it ported to get a little more power out of it.

Also could you guys ballpark the hp gain for each option and which one would be more reliable and if there is any pro or con between the two options.

The blaster is a 2004 with not a whole lot of hours on it. Im rebuilding the topend due to a lean condition tearing up the piston. (scoring on front of piston but fine every where else) but the crank is still in great condition but I was going to replace it for a little bit more power.

Labor price I was givin by the shop are....
Install stroker crank $75
Porting $100~
Head Milling $45
I can stick a new topend on myself so free for big bore labor

the vitos kit would make more power if ported correctly but keep in mind they are using a cheap piston now that wiseco is not makeing bb pistons anymore what u would be better off doing is getting the la sleeve kit which is basically a ct racing kit and its head and shoulders above the vitos kit and only about 75 dollars more

Ken Oconner also will do La sleeves and port work great price and super turn around time. He is a good dude just Pm him he will get back to you within a day max.

i think the 3mm stroker adds 4hp+ and the vitos would prolly be close to 10hp. but i agree with them, if u are going the BB route, get the LA sleeve, those are good labour prices, its usually $150 for porting and $60 for a milled head. Looks like you are getting outdone Ken hahahaha. just jokes, what u lack in prices u gain in service :p

Anyways, i wanna get a 3mm stroker with the matched ports and a wiseco piston. For the reason i dont find myself needing to go 70mph, i would prefer a way snappier throttle response with more power

well those prices might be chaeper than ken but remember u get what u pay for lol ken is doing my la sleeve 240 because of his reputation not his prices

now back to the thread at hand if u want the best of both worlds do the la sleeve kit plus the 3mm with the right carb and exhaust 40 hpwr is very doable

yes im doing both and ken is putting the magic porting touch on it,modding the trans and assembly also lol

200cc ported/stroked over stock unported vito's all day long

Not to metion I bet i've come close to 70mph with the 14t front 3mil strok and Oconner port work. I really need to get the GPS and see how fast it clocks me. But that's a while yet.

I would do stroker first. This being, it will give you lots more torque then you have now but when your stock jug is outta bores left then you can grab a big bore and really fly. Also if you get a big bore now and get it ported, what happens when you do eventually get a stroker? You've got to get a new jug........ or have it re-sleeved.

Yeh, I might be getting one this winter if ny sled sells, I will see what my local shop does for trueing, but if not I would send it to ken for trueing and a port job, this is now officially a thread jack and I appologize, its just so informative
