TRX450 vs TRX400 Rear Shock

I want to put the Honda TRX shock in my blaster. Everybody uses the trx400 shock but is there a difference between the 450 and 400. I am asking because I can get hold of a 450 shock. Are the springs and eye to eye length the same? I would guess that the trx450 shock is a stiffer shock. Any info would be appreciated.

same exact shock, IMO
except for the offset rezzie on the 450, which requires cutting the fender mount off the frame for clearence, (red circle)
and shimming it towards the shifter side with washers.................

both will rub the stock airbox, with the 450 rubbing the brass insert where the lid screws mount into, that one front right corner should be removed from the bottom to avoid rubbing thru the rezzie, then just use a sheet metal screw into the airbox to attach the lid, if using one

The 2 shocks being the same means if you so desire, you can run the KOR bushings and make mounting a breeze.

yep, the KOR bushings work on both the 400ex/450r
and also outside the mounts for the 250r shock
