It was a small sand pit, the main area was whooped out pretty good, so you could'nt really get into 4th gear often. Bike ran awesome, first and second with the power band gets the tires right up in the air without trying, both pictures of it wheeling was in 2nd coming off the whoops.

good to see you gettin some riding in,
nice pics !

Ya, 5 minutes with a garden hose and OP's would be good to go. 1/2 hour+ with a pressure washer, then you know it's dirty. When you have to rinse your cloths before you wash them, you know you had a good time.

you guys are a tough crowd;).... As you can see it was really dry where I was riding, and the trails were mostly hard dirt/ rock.

Dualstroke- Yes, it was on private property right next to the power lines off of 295. One of the girls in the group; her boyfriend "owns 110+ acres there" but after arriving at the peice of property and seeing the DEM signs near where we parked, I'm kind of second guessing the legality of it now though.

Any good semi legal riding up by you?

All in good fun e30 I:I :D

BTW, what does DEM stand for??
Northern Mich is a mud pit in the spring and a dust bowl in August (usually)

DEM is Department of Enviromental Management, Same thing as your DNR officers.

Speaking of Northern MI, if I were to make my way out to St. Helen/ Huron area and work my way over to Silverlake this summer, is there any trails systems in particular that you would reccomend? I've been watching videos of MI trails and the sandy trails/ water crossings / high speed trails are really grabbing my attention. I've been to Silverlake in my truck before and although it is rather small, I can see a solid day of riding there being fun.

I ride mostly Mio/ Bullgap area, and north of mio (muskrat lake?) Some trails wet of Mio also. Have also ridden over by West Branch. Lot of the trails are whooped out pretty bad X(. Mio is on oppisite side of state from Silver Lake.

One "nice" thing is that you can ride on side of county roads @20mph8-|. Can't ride along state hwy or on any federal forest road X( (which is mostly S.E. of Mio)

I've been watching a lot of youtube videos of St Helen, and the surrounding trails and it looks like ideal conditions to me. I want to hopefully make it out there again but this time with the atv.

3 day weekend attire. After the water holes but before the pressure washer:

Have a look at my boot, had a bit of an accident!

This is how we get it clean:

Yeah, I am getting towed, thought I'd squeak this one by on some worn turfsavers. WRONG.

Not much protection on a Blaster even with full fenders.
Hey, have a look at this one, trailside repair of a stripped and missing 300EX swingarm bolt:

Duct tape around a ratchet handle held in place with a ratchet strap.
Made it over many miles and many rocks back to home base. The weekend was not lost for this feller.

This is me, stuck again. Almost made it to the rocks but high centered on one.
This was a lift out, not a tow out. Better tires anyway.

Not me, but I know how he feels!

And while it is not really mud, it is about 2 feet of churned up water:

I like dirty pictures!

Seems like you had a blast best, looks like it too I:I Wish it was warm enough here to do that :p

That was last year and the year before. Still snow on the trails here yet.
We are in between times, not enough for the snowmobile, too much for the quads.
Another week and it will dry up enough to ride.
