Stripped/Cross Threaded Clutch Cover Bolts

Evening all,

Noticed a small oil leak recently coming from the bottom of the clutch cover so thought i would undo it to see whats going on, when i went to undo it a couple of the nuts were lose, so i tried tightening them and they were just turning, im aware that the holes need re-threading. just wondering if anyone has any tips on this or any other solutions?

the nuts that come out were M6, with 1.0 mm thread pitch and about 45 mm long, cant seem to get hold of any M7 so wondering if M8 will fit?

anyone else has had the same problem and got any solutions?

u could get some heli-coils and drill news holes......or get a tap set and tap out a new hole

yeah got myself a tap and die set, just wondering if anyone has tapped it before to an 8mm and still has strength around the bolt holes Etc?

it will be close.....there isnt much room on the outside of the cover

i'd try to keep them the stock size if possible. helicoil them things!
