I seen a post about this but i can't find it. Anyways My blaster shifts through the gear ok but when i downshift i can't get it to go into lower gears, but when i upshift then downshift it will go into the next gear lower. So you have to upshift then downshift to go in a lower gear. Any thoughts?

Is it like a roller issue. Like sometimes you have to rock it with the clutch out to get it to downshift? (with the engine off of course). Try feathering the clutch while trying to downshift.

I get the problem like blasterpat mentioned. Sometimes if I wait to down shift until after I've slowed down, I have to feather the clutch. If I shift down while braking then I'm fine. I think that's fairly normal though

When was oil last changed? Could be clutch adjustment, grooved basket, loose shift star, or other issues with external shift mechanism.

FYI for all: If the bolt is tight and the slot is squeezed tight, you can cut/grind the hole side (not threaded) a bit to get more "squeeze". If the hole gets stripped, drill threads out, use hardened bol/nut. Doesn't even have to be metric.

All of this is better than welding shifter to shaft !!
