this is something ive been slowly working on since the end of may, just finally have an okay amount of progress to start a project thread.
started out life as a not running but "all there" blaster:
^thats the original "teardown" basically just done "good enough" so that i could run it around the yard. the piston was seized, the crank was rusted, and the thing barely got out of its own way due to crank damage and poor jetting.
rode it around the yard, and finally got it jetted to a decent rideable state. until...
something decided it was a good idea to blast through the left side case. i think it came from the inside of the crankcase because of the big gouge on the inside of the piece that got punched off the bottom of the engine.
after this happened i kinda sat back and looked at the quad. i had to be honest. it was garbage. the tires were balding, the brakes were weak, the rims looked as though someone used a hammer instead of a tire iron, the suspension was shot, the bars were a twisted disgrace and everything was covered in rust slime or both. it was really time for a rebuild. the blaster isnt really my taste in the first place. so i figured id build it up for my girlfriend.
Rules for building a quad for gf who has never ridden:
engine stays as stock as possible, and application of pink paint may be neccesary.
with that in mind i've started my project.
