My shock mounts, made from 1/4 plate stainless. I puched a 3/4 hole in about the center to lighten it up. I may drill some smaller holes around the edge to lighten it up more.

That old 4 1/2" extender is over 14 years old with my fat a$$ bouncing on it. I dont think id trust it anymore. If i sold it to some one and it broke and someone got hurt id feel at fault and guilty!
