I'm looking to fix up this 2000 Blaster I bought for $300. A few things i saw 1st hand that it needed a throttle cable, shifter lever, n a kick start spring. The plastics n frame look like crap cuz the previous owner went spray paint crazy. The seller said it may need rebuilding but it has good compression. Ive ordered parts already but I would like to tear it down, clean it up, re-paint both. Where do I start???

Before you tear the motor down, leak test it to see if it is airtight, older motors usually need crank seals.
