I'm very new to this. I got a blaster for free from a friend of mine. I was toldit needed anew top end. I didthat while I did thatI was told thatI shouldput 2 cyc oil in crank case to keep from rusting as I did not have the parts yet . I pulled the drain plug and it drained out. I was told it shouldnot have drained out of there. Anyone know ifthat means I need new seals? , ,

There is no such thing as a dumb question, only dumb answers.

The crankcase has no drain plug, what you have done is drained the gearbox.

Unless the engine is going to be apart for a long time there is no need to dump 2 stroke oil in it, however a little squirt on the rod bearing could be a good idea.

Before you pull it apart do a leak test to see if the seals are ok.

The oil for trans is separate of the crank.
If you dumped oil in crank and it ran out, you have problems.
If you're lucky,itmay be seals.
Was the piston broken?

Thank you very much guys that was very helpful both of you I did get it narrowed down to the crank seal hopefully there's nothing else wrong , after I get the crank seal in
I'll do another leak down test and hopefully its all good I'll keep you posted
