the other thing is to make sure your rings are seated in the piston properly. There will be 1 locater pin in each of the ring grooves, the open part of the ring goes there.

WOW! I didn't know that.. I bet you that is my problem. I'm going to start tearing it down this weekend and hope I didn't cause any damage.

well then its a big gasket cause if u look at the one pic theres a big shiny thing there and i havent seen a gasket that big but i could be wrong and i thought it was cuz it looks kinda big

oh the head gasket? yeah i see that, but a spacer plate goes between the cases and the cylinder not the cylinder and head.
